I have the honour to transmit for your consideration the enclosed applications (in duplicate) from Messrs Gompertz and Hazeland for the post of First Police Magistrate in this Colony should it fall vacant.
2. In the event of a vacancy I recommend that the application of Mr Gompertz should be favourably considered.
